Special Educational Needs & Our SENDCo
Supporting Children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Christ Church is a caring and nurturing school; we strive to cater for the needs of all our children and believe that every child deserves the best possible education.
All teachers are directly responsible for all the pupils in their classes, including those children with SEND, as stated in the SEND Code of Practice (Department for Education and Department of Health, 2015).
At Christ Church, we support children with needs in all four areas of SEND:
- Communication and Interaction
- Cognition and Learning
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health
- Sensory and/or Physical
Mrs Jenny Thornton is our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCO). If you have any questions about our SEND provision, please contact her via the school office (0151 677 5152) or by email: jthornton@christchurch-moreton.wirral.sch.uk .
